Winnipeg, October 29, 2018 — On Wednesday, October 31, Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) president Claire Betker and CEO Mike Villeneuve will host International Council of Nurses (ICN) CEO Isabelle Skinner for her first official visit to Canada. Skinner’s trip will include meetings with the Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba in Winnipeg.
Skinner, a remote area nurse from Australia, was appointed to the ICN role on August 1, 2018. Her visit will highlight the global nursing organization’s strategic priorities. ICN is visiting Canada to learn how nurses work in conjunction with community health workers in rural and remote communities. ICN’s aim is to understand how Canada’s approach aligns with the goal of achieving universal health coverage.
