  • The Halifax World Trade and Convention Centre has agreed to provide water and juices in refillable jugs instead of bottles and to serve meals and snacks on porcelain rather than disposable dishware. Menus will feature seasonal, regionally available and organic products, all trans-fat free. Waste separation containers will be located in all public areas of the facility.
  • We are partnering with Mark’s Work Wearhouse to provide each attendee with a stainless steel water bottle.
  • We will continue to distribute delegate bags made from recycled material and will limit the number of paper inserts going in the bags.
  • Our exhibitors have been encouraged to either eliminate or limit the number of promotional paper products.
  • The book of abstracts will no longer be printed in its entirety. Instead, we will be posting it on the CNA website prior to the convention and sending the link to each registrant. The convention guide, distributed on site, will include the title of the concurrent session presentation along with a brief description and the presenter(s) name(s).
  • We are strongly encouraging individuals to register online. As an incentive, we will draw the names of five online registrants and refund them the entire cost of their convention registration (excluding the cost of workshops and social events). We are moving toward online only registration in 2012.
  • Out of respect for attendees with allergies, we’re asking participants to refrain from using scented hair spray, perfumes, cologne, aftershave and other products.
