Enter the Canadian Nurse ‘LIKE IT TO WIN IT’ giveaway draw (the “Draw”) for a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card prize.
There are 4 separate Draws, each their own Draw Periods:
- September 2020 draw: begins on September 1, 2020, at 12:01 AM EST and ends on September 30, 2020, at 11:59 PM EST.
- October 2020 draw: begins on October 1, 2020, at 12:01 AM EST and ends on October 31, 2020, at 11:59 PM EST.
- November 2020 draw: begins on November 1, 2020, at 12:01 AM EST and ends on November 30, 2020, at 11:59 PM EST.
- December 2020 draw: begins on December 1, 2020, at 12:01 AM EST and ends on December 31, 2020, at 11:59 PM EST.
The Draw is open to residents of Canada. You are not eligible if you are an employee or representative of the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION (which publishes and holds the trademark for Canadian Nurse) or its respective affiliates, advertising and promotional agencies, or a member of the immediate family or household of any such employee or representative. For these rules, “immediate family” means spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, son or daughter.
How to Enter
Option 1: Visit @InsideCdnNurse on Facebook or Twitter and do one or more of the following to be entered into the Draw:

Option 2: If you do not have a Facebook or Twitter account but would still like to enter our Draw, email the answer to one or more of the following questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.

- What author wrote the article titled A new nurse’s most essential skill: Asking questions? (1 entry)
- In the archives, what is pictured for the September/October 2017 edition? (1 entry)

- True or false: access to Canadian Nurse is included as a benefit of membership in the Canadian Nurses Association. (1 entry)
Entrants must also meet the Eligibility requirements.
No purchase is necessary to enter the Draw.
LIMIT: Participation in the Draw is limited to 5 entries per person per Draw Period. All winners are assessed based on the merits of their submissions/entries and any blatant attempts to game, shortcut, duplicate or otherwise fraudulently augment your chances to win (including using multiple email accounts) will result in being disqualified from this and/or banned from future Canadian Nurse competitions.
Random Selection of Winners
The Draw consists of one monthly giveaway prize. For each draw, there will be one winner randomly selected to receive a $100 Amazon gift card prize.
The first Draw will begin on September 1, 2020, and end on September 30, 2020. The deadline for entering the first draw is September 30, 2020, at 11:59 PM EST. The winner will be randomly selected and notified by October 7, 2020, at 12 PM.
The second Draw will begin on October 1, 2020, and end on October 31, 2020. The deadline for entering the second draw is October 31, 2020, at 11:59 PM EST. The winner will be randomly selected and notified by November 7, 2020, at 12 PM.
The third Draw will begin on November 1, 2020, and end on November 30, 2020. The deadline for entering the third draw is November 30, 2020, at 11:59 PM EST. The winner will be randomly selected and notified by December 7, 2020, at 12 PM.
The fourth Draw will begin on December 1, 2020, and end on December 31, 2020. The deadline for entering the third draw is December 31, 2020, at 11:59 PM EST. The winner will be randomly selected and notified by January 7, 2020, at 12 PM.
The winners will be randomly selected from all entries received. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received. The winners will be randomly selected by the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION.
Notification of Winners
An electronic message will be sent to the winner.
The winner of each poll will be announced on this web page as well as our Facebook and Twitter channels.
If the selected entrant cannot be contacted and confirmed within four weeks after their name was selected, the prize will be forfeited.
To be confirmed as a winner, the selected entrant may be required to first correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question to be administered during a pre-arranged telephone interview at a mutually convenient time.
Release of Liability
The CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION and the other Releasees (defined below) will not be responsible for (i) incomplete, late, lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, misdirected, garbled or irregular entries, or for any entries not received or processed for any reason, including any technical or human error; (ii) any errors, omissions, incorrect or inaccurate information in these Rules, other Draw-related information, including printing or advertising, and other equipment or programming associated with or used in the Draw; or (iii) any failure of the Internet or website at any time, problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, address providers, computer equipment or software, failure of any email to be transmitted or received, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof, including injury or damage to an entrant's computer or to any other individual's computer related to or resulting from participating in, or downloading any material regarding the Draw or accepting a prize.

Liability / Publicity Release
Before being declared the winner, the selected entrants may be required to sign a Declaration of Compliance with the Draw Rules and Release of Liability confirming compliance with these Rules and releasing the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION and its respective affiliates, representatives and agents, including without limitation, their advertising and promotional agencies, and all of their respective employees, officers, directors, agents and assigns (the “Releasees”), from any and all liability attributable to the Draw or arising from the prize awarded in the Draw. Declaration and Release documents must be returned within four weeks of the applicable selection date or the prize will be forfeited.
By accepting a prize, winners consent to the use without payment of their name, address, photograph or other likeness, voice or statements in any publicity, advertising or promotion carried out by the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION or its advertising or promotional agencies, without further consideration.
Authorized Account Holder
If the identity of an entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The individual assigned to the email address for the domain associated with the submitted email address is considered to be the authorized account holder. The entrant may be required to provide proof that he or she is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the selected entry.
By entering the Draw, entrants acknowledge that they have read and understood these Rules and agree to abide by them and all decisions of the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION, which shall be final and binding in all matters relating to this Draw and the awarding of a prize. Entrants who have not complied with these Rules are subject to disqualification.
The CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Entrant it finds to be: (a) violating the Draw Rules; (b) tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Draw or the Draw’s website; or (c) acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. If the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION suspects that an entrant has acted in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, the entrant will be advised by email that the entrant has been disqualified. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS DRAW OR TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS DRAW MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND/OR CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD ANY SUCH ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Subject to obtaining the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for the province of Quebec, the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION reserves the right to terminate, amend, suspend or reinstate the Draw at any time if any factor interferes with its proper administration as contemplated by these Rules. If the Draw is terminated, the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION will publish a notice on the Canadian Nurse website and a random selection may be conducted from all entries received as at the date of termination. Entrants selected at random must be confirmed as winners as outlined above.
The prize is not transferable, must be accepted as awarded, with no substitutions in cash or otherwise, except at the sole discretion of the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION, which reserves the right to substitute the prize of equal or greater value if the prize cannot be awarded as described.
The prize will be shipped within two weeks after a selected entrant is confirmed as the winner and submitted a Declaration of Compliance with the Draw Rules and Release of Liability. The CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION is not responsible for loss or theft caused in the shipment or delivery of the prize to the winner.
All entries become the property of the CANADIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION and will not be returned. NO CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE ENTERED INTO EXCEPT WITH SELECTED ENTRANTS. YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS BEING COLLECTED FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF AWARDING THE PRIZE.
The Draw is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and local laws.
For Quebec Residents
Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity draw may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
